My Love for Firefox was undoubted.

Such a great Open Development browser with tons of Free Plug-ins and Extensions to enhance your browsing experience. I love Cooliris, i love Boost for Facebook, I Love AdBlock Plus, I love the search toolbar, i love the Gmail notification, i love Personas, I love Private-Browsing, and lots more!

I always try to recommend my friends to use Firefox browser. But until lately, i need to re-define my love for Firefox.

I am experiencing Choppy video playback in Firefox!
I hate the choppy experience every time i try to view/stream any video from Youtube or Vimeo or any other video playback in FF. The “choppy” ghost just won’t leave me alone.

I told myself that this is a fix-able bug that can be resolve by future version updates or remove any crashed plug-ins/add-ons.

Therefore, i made extensive research from Google for the solution. I tried to downgrade my Flash Player 10 to FP-9, i removed several unimportant add-ons. I reset the Auto-restore timing from 10 seconds to 120 seconds. I tried everything. To my disappointment, the result is still the same. What the heck!

I made numerous video playback tests between FF, Safari and Google Chrome. The big winner is Safari with very steady and stable playback without any lag. Chrome also playing smooth video, to my surprise. My favorite Firefox is the worst among them, Choppy, Choppy, CHOPPY!!!

Now, my favorite Firefox has a new contender, Google Chrome. Although Chrome doesn’t support as many plug-ins as Firefox does, but i believe with the backbone of the giant Google, in a year or two, Chrome will become the next Browsing Beast that win the market of both Windows and Mac OS.

If you are reading my writing, please please please Fix the Choppy Video Playback!
